Parked at Beaver Brook picnic area on Route 3. Paid the $3 fee as my sticker ran out in August. The Gale River Loop Road gates were closed at both ends. The Haystack Road was also gated closed for North & South Twin peaks. |

Several wooden bridges, other crossings were rock hops with care due to some ice and snow covered rocks. |

Another great day to hike as the temps were from 25 to 35 but there were no views as the fog and clouds were thick when I was at the hut and the view point on Galehead. The sun did come out around noon as I was heading back down the trails. There was some bare ground but mostly snow and ice covered trails with up to 4" of snow at the higher elevations. Wore stabilicers for traction on the steeper parts of the trails. |
