Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One blowdown about a mile and a half below the summit of Wildcat D Peak on the Wildcat Valley X-C Ski Trail. A hand saw can remove the branches that stick up but the trunk needs an axe or chainsaw to be removed.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Fine hike for dogs, although once the snow falls I think they're only allowed on certain trails in the Jackson/Wildcat Valley Trails. check this link for details http://jacksonxc.org/wp/media/jackson-xc-trail-map-2014.pdf

Comments
Comments: A nice little hike up to Wildcat over very easy grades on old logging roads and X-C ski trails. There are intersecting X-C ski trails going in every which direction at certain points that are not marked on the A.M.C map so care is required to stay on Hutmen's and finding Hall's Ledge (http://jacksonxc.org/wp/media/jackson-xc-trail-map-2014.pdf). The Wildcat Valley Trail was a real nice approach up to the summit and easy to follow, the highlight was a wide open birch/hardwood glades that it traveled through for a few tenths of a mile.
