Some mud spots on Liberty Spring and connector between Flume and Liberty. Great day on the summits - a severe clear day. Met 2 trail crews while I was coming down Liberty Spring near junction with Flume Slide repairing the boggy areas that are prevalent there. Although I parked at Whitehouse I decided to take the new herd path at the right angle turn on Liberty Spring (about 1/4 mile from trail junction with Flume Slide). Although some blowdowns on this unauthorized trail, it puts you out on the bike path just south of the Basin parking lot. Compared to parking at WH, it saves about 1/2 mile on either end of the hike. |
