Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The rocks in Stoney Brook were glazed with ice and extremely slippery. A tree trunk that had fallen across the creek a short way upstream was very helpful to get across.

Comments
Comments: We ascended via the Stoney Brook Trail and went back on the Carter-Moriah Trail to make a loop. There was a significant amount of ice on the Carter Moriah Trail as we descended from the summit, covering the entire trail in places and causing us to have to try and bushwhack through the trees on the sides of the trail. It was slow-going and treacherous. There was less ice on the Stoney Brook Trail and it was easier to get around it. That trail had nicer views, too. Just be careful with the creek crossings so you don't have to hike with wet feet all day like my husband did!
