One old beat-up microspike fell off about a mile below Madison hut on Valley Way; please discard in nearest trash dumpster, with my thanks. |

| Comments: |
Upper Valley Way easier with microspikes. Took me almost an hour to get up and down Madison from the hut because of the rime-covered rocks, white out conditions, and blowing rime shards; wind speeds on cone about 30 to 40 mph. Forgot my goggles, so needed to down climb backwards from summit to protect eyes; cairns mostly invisible in white out. Bailed on adding Mount Adams, as wanted to get part way down Valley Way before darkness set in. I am learning that some PM grid peaks are tougher than others in November. Met four others on their way down from Adams. |
