| Dog-Related Notes: |
Some dogs will certainly have a tough time on the upper third of this hike, which is very steep and rough. Oscar's only issue came at the start of the descent, when I slipped on a slick rock. He was just in front of me, and my boot snuck right between his rear legs for a punishing kick to the gut. He then half-yelped, half-barked and shot down a very tricky portion of trail at full speed. Thankfully we were both OK and I can laugh about it now. |
|
| Bugs: |
None |
|
| Lost and Found: |
A blue-ish scarf was left at the trailhead and a lone fleece glove had been strategically placed on a rock at about 2.4 miles. |

| Comments: |
Timed this hike perfectly to coincide with a break in the rain. It rained for the first 5 minutes of the hike and the last 15 - Weather Underground's hourly forecast really nailed it. You don't really want to be on the top third of this hike in wet conditions, nor do you want to be up there at any point between the next freeze and the first or second significant snowfall - the footing is really tough in places. Nevertheless it was great to be in the woods. |
