| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Leaves - Significant/Slippery |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
No real problems, but there is one point where the trail crosses the Thompson and Spruce brooks and it is not clear at all which side the trail is supposed to stay on. Keep a look out for the blue markings on the trees. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Pine tree fell across the trail at some point after we started. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
This trail is pretty easy for dogs. There is some scrambling for the last quarter of a mile before the summit spur trail. |
| Bugs: |
The bugs actually came back out due to the warm weather. |

| Comments: |
Mother Nature gave us almost record high temperatures so Boomer and I took advantage of it to summit Garfield. The views go for miles and the foundation provides some relief from the strong winds on this bald summit.
Besides the summit, the trails are relatively uneventful. Just kick it into autopilot until you reach the junction with the Garfield Ridge Trail. |
