Chose the South Link of the loop today. There was a dusting of snow on the steeps the last 0.5 miles to South Hancock. I had microspikes with me, but I wasn't slipping going up, so I never used them. The North Link was a lot drier since it has more sun exposure -- no issues coming down from North Hancock to complete the loop. The rest of the hike was smooth sailing. Saw a few happy people (+3 dogs) out enjoying the bluebird day in the Whites. |
