Tecumseh Trail probably best maintained that I have hiked in the Whites; lots of new rock step work since my last visit, which should stand up to future tropical superstorms. |

Rare early start for me, as I met people on their way up on my way down. Kind of a downer to see USFS sign at summit stating threat of $5000 fine for illegal cutting of vegetation, but I really do appreciate the summit view that has been restored, closer to what I remember on my first visit in 1967. Given that ski area trails recently mowed, I used from about half way on descent, staying on cat tracks as much as possible. Third month calendar date completion for me. |
