Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I found Zealand Road to be in better shape than I anticipated based on recent posts. I was the first car to park on the road at about 10 AM. There would have been spots for two cars in the parking lot if people had parked more efficiently.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Ice - Black, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Leaves - Significant/Slippery
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Manageable.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Well-maintained.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Oscar got very excited by the snow, but I think he had a hard time with his footing on the dust-on-crust. If your dog likes booties or shoes for the winter, now is the time to break them out. Oscar didn't have them and by the time we reached the summit he was showing signs of discomfort.
