Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: A sign shows where to park, and it's a short walk to the trail. We talked to some people working on the construction of the new bunkhouses. They told us that the old lodge is going to be replaced with a new lodge.

Water Crossing Notes: Bridged.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: This is a very nice trail, and well taken care of. It had been brushed recently. Flagging tape indicated where a couple of projects should be attended to soon. On one stretch of trail the tape said "Cap causeway so water won't run down it" (this stretch had eroded down several feet). On another stretch the tape indicated that the trail would be rerouted a little bit uphill to get it away from a stream. Both projects look like a lot of work, so thank you trail crews!

Comments
Comments: There was essentially no rain, but there were a couple of brief "hail storms" with pieces smaller than peas falling lightly, and a few small snow showers. The ground wasn't frozen and it was questionable about whether anything would accumulate. There was little bit of rime ice on the trees and signs up there too. There was very limited visibility up top but some good views from the outlooks.

We had planned to descend by the Carriage Road and Snapper Trail, but the wind (NW?) was strong and in our faces that way so it made sense to go back the way we came up.
