| Water Crossing Notes: |
Crossing of Ellis River required a few long steps onto wet rocks. Poles were helpful. Rocks had dried by late afternoon. All crossings on Nineteen-Mile Brook Tr. had dry planks. Crew was working on the new bridge. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
One blowdown on way up to Wildcat E in one of the steep rock step sections that could be a problem in winter. Then again this side probably doesn't see much use in winter. Lots of recent and ongoing work on Nineteen-Mile Brook Tr.. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Climb from Glen Ellis to E peak may be too much for some dogs. Two I saw were doing out & back from there. One couple said they had to help their dog in a few spots. |
|
| Bugs: |
Many hovering around on Nineteen-Mile Brook Tr. but not bothersome. |

| Comments: |
Lower sections of Wildcat Ridge Tr. were dry and the spots you wanted dry were dry. Upper half of Nineteen-Mile Tr. was wet; lower section drier and a couple of new reroutes making for a nicer trail. Killer views across the notch today and very few hikers met. Helped out a hiker from the Netherlands as a hiking partner, photographer, and car ride. Always a feel good situation when hiking days end this way. Also nice running into Waumbek on the ridge. |
