| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
None at The Basin lot at 6 am when starting out, but I have no doubt the parking lot was crazy all day. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Leaves - Significant/Slippery |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |

|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
All water crossings were pleasantly and surprisingly low after last week's rains and some good showers the night before maintenance day trek. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Spent the day opening drainages and water bars, clearing downed brush and leaf dams, and snipping back some thick balsams in the mid section. Overall, the trail is in pretty good shape but will always be wet and rough as it shares a stream bed for extended length. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Didn't see a single dog all day. |
|
| Bugs: |
Nope. |

| Comments: |
Beauty of day to be out, working or not....cool, clear at times, crisp. Bit o' snow fallin' in the early hours, just enough to coat things and make the bog bridges a bit slicker than normal. Solitude, not a soul seen until 11:30 at the shelter. Geese were looking to drop into the pond but flaring off as they saw people on the ridge trail. N. Kinsman looked awesome in a light coat of white. |
