Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: easy crossings.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A couple of waterbars on lower Ammonoosuc (between the USFS lot and the spur Tr) are silted in. Most waterbars on Jewell are silted in. One easy duck under just below treeline on Jewell. Note: when descending, the trail off the new bridge at the bottom of Jewell is not obvious. I moved some brush to make it clearer. When descending, take a sharp left as you step off the bridge.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Lots of rock hopping on upper Jewell trail.
Bugs
Bugs: A few when the wind stopped, while lunching overlooking the Great Gulf.

Comments
Comments: Beautiful day to wander above tree line. Ran into more people than anticipated, but certainly not crowded (I avoided the actual summit of Washington).
