Comments
Comments: Despite having climbed ice routes dozens of times and Pinnacle buttress many times over the years in Huntington Ravine, this was my first time up the Huntington Ravine Trail on the headwall in just over 50 years. I forgot how exposed it is, but when we were kids we scampered up it in sneakers. A friend who climbed it recently met three young women who were climbing it barefoot. Nevertheless, I endorse the warnings written in the AMC guidebook description, and agree that this trail should be avoided as a down climb or when wet.
Was relieved to have dry rock on the headwall, but was met by cloud, slick rocks, and 60 mph westerly wind above.
