Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Saturday, July 18, 2015

Parking/Access Road Notes: Wide spot on the road, room for several cars, no fee.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The crowing of the Dry River just above the falls would be difficult if the water was any higher (rain on Friday night).
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A couple of annoying duck under blow downs. The sign for the Mt Clinton Tr has been replaced (nice new ones here). The rerouted sections of trail since Irene are more like a herd path than a trail.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: not a bad hike for fido. Plenty of water, although a few scrambles.
Bugs
Bugs: surprisingly few.

Comments
Comments: The rerouted sections are more herd path than trail. A couple of areas which climb straight up soil slopes have widened to about 4 feet already, as hikers look for better footing. With the amount of traffic this trail gets, I think more structure will be needed here. The shelter is still in good shape. I noticed duct tape on the underside of the roof in a couple of spots, but no rain made it through Friday night.
