Comments
Comments: Originally planned to do an out-and-back to Lafayette from the tramway, but time was on my side, so when I got to the top, I changed my plan and decided to do a loop via the Garfield Ridge and Skookumchuck trails, with a walk on the bike path to finish it off. On the way down Skook, at about 2,340' elevation, I decided to bushwhack from the trail to the bike path where the trail veers away from the brook. In doing so, I shaved about 2 miles and 150 ft. of gain off the hike! In the end, the whole thing was about 9.5 mi long with 3,500 ft. of gain, and it took 4.25 hrs not including breaks.

Oh yeah, the views were to die for! Best day I've had on the Franconia Ridge, and one of the best hiking days weather-wise period!
