 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Six vehicles at Randolph East. Saw trash in lot in the morning. It had been removed by the PM. I don't recall seeing a street sign for Pinkham B road. It exits south of route 2 at the western base of Randolph Hill. |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Crossings were easy rock hops at Bumpus Brook, Spur Brook, and Snyder Brook. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails in good condition. RMC working on upper section of Spur Brook Trail. A skyline is set up to move rocks. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw some dogs. Rocks above treeline can be rough on paws. |
|
 | Bugs: |
There were some flying insects especially at lower elevations in wet areas. At the summit of Mt Madison there were the usual large flying insects which do not seem to cause problems. |

 | Comments: |
Hitchcock Fall on Howker Ridge Trail and Chandler Fall just off Spur Trail were beautiful today. Stairs Fall was meager and Coosauk Fall seemed to be non-existent. Knight's Castle is a great overlook in to King Ravine.
I always enjoy the less travelled RMC trails on the Northern Presidential Range. Lots of other hikers above tree line.
I had a nice conversation with the RMC caretaker and her friends from UVM. |
