| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
All water crossings manageable. Carter Dome trail crossings much better from an earlier May 8 snow run-off day that made for some tricky rock hoppin' to avoid wet feet. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Happy Dogs today. |
|
| Bugs: |
Cool start always helps with bug situation. So bugs were fine until the summit of Hight. Then..BFs were aggressive and persistent. Had to keep moving at that point. But still stopped on the way over to CD to get some good pics of a very photogenic Spruce Grouse hen that was not intimidated by our presence. Bugs lower down with the heat of the day are a given. Just keep movin' n swatting as needed if not wearing DEET :) |

| Lost and Found: |
One blue bandana found on the way to Carter Dome. Glad to report that the item found its rightful owner down at Carter Notch Hut :) |

Trails in great shape for most part. There is a NEW re-route 'in process' now being done in the lower section going up to CD trail.
Carter Dome trail in fine shape. No surprises all the way to Hight. The col between the peaks was fine. Final drop to the notch went steeply as expected after the Outlook View. Upper section of 19 mile brook trail is definitely more wet muddy but no issues. The views from Hight never get old. Congrats to hiking partner BA on #39. Gettin' close now :) |
