Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Went upstream a hundred yards at Moriah gorge to cross. At Bull Brook crossed slightly downstream of old crossing.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Lost Moriah Brook trail about 1/2 mile above gorge among beaver lagoons. Retraced to brook and easily recovered trail. Last mile, Moriah Brook trail has many blow downs and missing boardwalks. AT section in very good condition, as expected. Trail overgrown on Shelburne Moriah. Care required in places. Winter debris still being cleared near connection with Shelburne trail, which is in good shape except at top near junction. Lost trail briefly among blow downs. Highwater trail in reasonable condition. Generally easy to follow despite flood damages.

Bugs
Bugs: A cool, dry day. Slapped 1 mosquito all day!

Comments
Comments: Tremendous views from summits and ledges. All trail, except for the AT are getting minimal maintenance. Not sure where my parking permit money goes, but the Forest Service certainly isn't investing it in trail maintenance.
