Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All water crossings are easily stepped over or bridged.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails are in great shape. I cannot recall a single note that I made while hiking... Maybe a branch or two int eh way but nothing serious.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Isis had a great time on the trails. She was very tired and probably a little upset with me for the long day. She got a little vocal with some dogs but, we're OK with that. She's just protective of me. She is the bad ass of the day to go up and down using those trails. It is a tough route for even experienced trail dogs.
Bugs
Bugs: Yes... Bug spray immune bugs... But that did not ruin anything.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Noting lost or found today.

Comments
Comments: Old Jackson Road is a fantastic warm up. Nice and flat and easy to walk. Only one significant up section. I really enjoyed it. Then the climbing began and Nelson Crag is a lot more scrambles than I thought but again, Isis and I made it up. The heat of the day was a factor as we went over tot eh Alpine Garden and here is where we hooked up with Lisa, Ken, and Section Hiker. Great to hike the remainder of the trails with them. Lots of rocks to navigate over Lion Head to the summit... The summit is crazy as usual and it's bike week too. Heading down was tedious on tired feet but we all did it supporting one another. I was grateful for the assist on the middle part of Lion Head. Great to get off my feet at the end of the day but so proud of myself and Isis for doing this. It was a tough route and I did it testing out m Long Trail loaded pack... 40 pounds up and over Mount Washington on my back!
