| Comments: |
Went up the Moriah Brook Tr. There was some beaver activity mid-way, but it has been there awhile since the trail crossed over the dams. There were 3 beaver dams, only 1 was active. There were some muddy areas along the trail with poor drainage. The last half mile of the Moriah Brook Tr had bog bridging over mud, but tree branches that forced you off the bridging. Then there were quite a few blowdowns over a short distance. Carter-Moriah Tr was find, and Kenduskeag on the AT stretch was fine. Kenduskeag after the AT, there were some minor blowdowns scattered around. Shelburne Tr was dry and fine. The last part of Shelburne Tr requires wading across the Wild River in calf deep water, provided you don't slip on the rocks. If you do, then it is over the waist. |
