Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A couple of step-over duck-under blowdowns remain on the Signal Ridge Trail up to the Carrigain Notch junction. Notch Trail was in great shape. Nearly every blow down had been removed and there weren't too many wetspots
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Good bit of mud, lots of water and several red squirrels. Desolation trail would be quite steep for most dogs.

Comments
Comments: Saw a large bull moose munching on a birch tree where 93 goes from 2 to 1 lanes in Franconia Notch. 1 Bear on Cannon ski slopes on return trip.

I think that this loop will become my favorite way to do Carrigain even tho the steep part of Desolation is very steep. Would not want to descend that way.
