| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The trails are in great shape. There were a few blowdowns along the ridge; I could have taken a couple more out but it was so nice hiking I just kept going. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Pepper had no problems on the north or south slides but he is a very experienced hiker who has been on these trails before; I would not bring an inexperienced, skittish or couch potato pup on it. I carried a harness and leash just in case; and I could carry him out in my pack; one never knows what might happen. The loop is dry except down low; so bring water. |
|
| Bugs: |
No real problems. They were there if one stopped for long, but no swarms. |
|
| Lost and Found: |
Lost my camera in its black case again; probably in the parking lot, through an open door. I'm convinced it has legs, and it wants to find someone with more talent than me. Perhaps it aspires to be Ansel Adams view camera, or at least Clay's finest. |

| Comments: |
I posted for the camera, but it really was a great day for these trails, and these trails were wonderful for hiking. The slides were dry, the footing good and the views from them excellent. The ridge path and the loop from the south slide were a delight for my feet and Pepper's paws. We only saw 3 others on the Loop trail but they were fun to chat with; the surprising part was how few we saw on Livermore Road on such a glorious weekend day. |
