Plenty of water for dogs on this trail these days. I saw a very well-behaved dog enjoying the day with his master and his young son. |

I saw two mosquitoes but they were getting whipped around in the wind. haha |

The temp was 58 degrees in Crawford Notch and Franconia Ridge looked dark and ominous as I made my way north (11:30 ish).
Gaiters would have been a good choice. My friend who had to bow out was planning on wearing non-Gore Tex trail runners. In my opinion, his feet would have been soaked. Boots were a good choice with all the water and mud.
