One of the best graded trailbeds in the whites,its a mystery why this trail was abandnoned so long ago. I did like enjoy through the birches.
I intentionally went with minimal info and used an old AMC map. I ended up taking a 2 hour bushwhack tour of the west flank of one South Sugarloaf. Good excuse to play with the compass and see some untraveled territory before connecting up with the trail on the 5th switchback. I didnt see anyone until running into Larisa jogging up the trail |
