Rock hoppable today, had to step on rocks submerged a few inches multiple times but feet were still dry at the end |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails easy to follow except a small reroute (?) near the crossings on Cedar Brook trail is a bit ambiguous, no blazing so hard to tell if it's a herd path, an actual reroute or something else - comes back to the main trail quickly though. Noticed some nice drainage ditches on Hancock Loop trail before the split and a few areas with new log steps for erosion control, definitely new since the last time I've been here in non-winter - parts of this hike are still a big muddy mess but every little bit of maintenance helps! Drainage ditches up high look like they've been cleaned in the past few days, though some down low could still use a good clean. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Hannah had a good day, enough water throughout the day for drinking and cooling the paws. Saw a few other dogs, some better controlled than others - people please kindly control your dogs when there are other people and dogs around!! |

| Comments: |
First snow free hike of the year for us - nice to do this hike on a better weather day for once, pleasant temps and got some good views. The outlook just below the summit of South Hancock is much more open than I remember it being (and has evidence of being recently opened up). Great day out with Hannah! |
