Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: For the crossing at the bottom of the Kinsman Pond Tr. I followed a herd path 200 feet upstream to find a spot requiring a rather long jump to a large stable rock. Other than that I didn't see any possibilities to cross without wading or totally submerging boots in a fairly rapid flow.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A few blowdowns on Kinsman Pond Tr.. Top of this trail slightly difficult to follow but blazes (which I normally don't look for) were helpful in reassuring I was still on trail. Felt like you were walking down the brook at times rather than on a trail. As mentioned in other reports the sign for Hi-Cannon is missing but there is a sign at this jct. for Lonesome Lake being 1.2 miles further.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a few out enjoying the day. Plentiful water. Other than a few scrambles dogs should have no issues.
Bugs
Bugs: Cool temps must have kept them away.

Comments
Comments: Up Lonesome Lake & Fishin' Jimmy and down Kinsman Pond & up Cascade Brook to Lonesome Lake for a change. Lonesome Lake Tr. fine. Fishin' Jimmy Tr. was quite wet with slippery rock; would've been slow going down. Kinsman Ridge Tr. was OK with the scrambles on the north side of North Kinsman most likely having more traction than I trusted them with. Upper 1/3 of Kinsman Pond Tr. was very wet and rough. Care required following trail and foot placement on wet ,mossy rocks. Brook running high and swift (see above). Mix of day hikers, AT thru hikers, and backpackers out today; all enjoying comfortable temps and sun when it came out in afternoon.
