Black flies are getting bad in the lower elevations when not moving. A few deer flies appear to be popping up as well. |

Trail was mostly dry, including the often slick ledges higher up.
Looks like some rocket surgeon decided to light a fire on the top platform of the fire tower, burning through the decking (fortunately not burning the fire warden's cab above). As a result, half the top platform is flagged off due to the gaping hole (and temporary wood cover). |
