Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water crossings weren't difficult - 13 & 14 yr old girls crossed w/o issue, as did adults.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: All blow downs were easily stepped over.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: This was our dog's 5th hike. Scout wimpered a lot on the way down - I think we've now learned he doesn't like steep descents! He's been tired for the last day or so (catching up on his sleep). His pads look ok and he's eating and drinking normally.
Bugs
Bugs: It was windy - and bug free!
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: I have lost a black Canon camera. I believe it's at the North Hancock overlook between two large granite boulders. There are lots of pics from end of the year school activities (track/band/choral concerts) as well as hikes (Avalon, South Moat, Doubleheads, the beginning of the Hancocks). Please let me know if you've found it! I'd really appreciate the card back - you can keep the camera. Please email me at ExploringNH@comcast.net if found! Thank you!! Kathy

Comments
Comments: Nice hike for our family. Very steep on the North and South links. Until the snow is gone I'd definitely recommend doing this loop by achieving South before North.
