Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw at least seven dogs today. Had only one bad experience. Off-leash, out of control dog (running into and out of the woods and up and down the trail, ignoring the owner's commands) came running at Max, growling and snarling. I managed to yank Max (leashed) out of the way, get my legs between the dogs, and Daze the aggressive canine (not taze...don't worry, people...DAZE...doesn't hurt the dog, just emits a high-pitched sound they don't like). The dog turned and went to the owner after I used the Dazer....I don't think the owner even noticed I used it (you just press a button on a small device for one second). The owner shouted "Bad Dog" over and over at the dog, but I noticed she never took out a leash....that was the first time I've had to use my Dazer in at least a year, and I hope I don't have to use it again any time soon...I know it's the dog owner that's the real problem and not the dog, but I won't stand by and let Max (or me, or my kids) get hurt. All the other dogs on the trail (at least six others) were great.
Bugs
Bugs: A few, but none were biting.

Comments
Comments: We had a great hike -- this was my belated Mother's Day hike (we had too much work to do on Mother's Day itself). Windy at the top, but such is Moosilauke. We arrived early and had both summits to ourselves. Beautiful day, not too hot, not too cold. Perfect.

Will have a trip report with photos on my blog later this week, probably Thursday evening.
