No issues with water crossings, but Valley Way does tend to be wet, and the trail didn't disappoint in that respect. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Is the sign missing at the top of the trail, near the hut, showing the top end of the trail? I can't remember if I saw one before. I knew where to enter the trail for my descent (having done it before), but anyone who might be descending via VW should know where the trail is, and of course we all always carry good maps! |

| Comments: |
The snow is virtually gone from Air Line. Only one very short, avoidable patch this day. Trail was in good condition.
Although my ascent via Air Line was snow-free, I ran into a lot of snow going down Valley Way. Snow is still covering the trail in numerous long patches, on the upper portion of the trail (roughly above the tent site, going up to the hut). Some spots appear to have depths of perhaps 1-2 feet. For the most part, the snow supported my weight. I had spikes but never got around to putting them on; I'm glad I had them, though. In the near future, traction might not be required, but it's good to have it just in case. If there is a thaw/freeze cycle or two, though, there might be some icy patches. And if it gets softer quickly, there will be more postholing.
