Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Quite a lot of brook crossings, the first few were a little tricky, involving a lot of rock hopping, no wading.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail is cluttered with blowdowns starting at approximately the second mile counting from Wild River Campground. Shortly after, the trail peters out, becoming a herd path, and finally disappearing altogether by mile 4. At least two beaver dams require short (several hundred yard) bypasses.

Comments
Comments: This trail ought to be skipped, closed, or subject to some serious maintenance. Blazes are scarce at best, and frequently missing altogether. Blowdowns and faint/lost trail required genuine bushwhacking the last quarter mile up to the ridge and the AT intersect.

On the up-side, saw lots and lots of moose sign, and some other critters too. Trillium was in full bloom, along with the dogwood-y looking shrubs. Very pretty river bottom trail the first mile or two.
