they are out, flies, mousquitoes. Very bad nead water crossings. |

| Comments: |
No snow until about 4,000 feet and between South Peak and the summit of Moose. Snow and ice are very slippery and too intermittent for traction to be very helpful. Though I did see one hiker descending with microspikes.
Great hike and spring is almost to the Whites. |
