Comments: Kinsman Ridge Trail from tram pkng lot

Early morning hike up Cannon with our friend John. He went over to get the Kinsmans after we reached the summit of Cannon, but we had to go down since we have a lot of things to do this afternoon. Looking forward to hearing about his traverse.

Snow remains up high, but not nearly enough for snowshoes. We avoided most of what was left...some folks might want to bring light traction just in case, but we were fine completely barebooting. I doubt much, if any, of that snow will still be there a week from now.

Saw no one on the way up and had the summit to ourselves. We were in Cloud, but the fog was burning off while we headed down. The 21 people and 2 dogs that were coming up as we descended probably had some nice views.

Of the 21 people we passed, 2 were not hikers...this couple had no water, no backpacks, no nothing. They were only a few tenths of a mile from the car...the man asked how far the trail went. I told him, and I politely tried to tell them/strongly hinted that they should probably go back and get some water and other supplies. They noted our packs but continued up the trail...well, there were plenty of real hikers ahead of them and behind them, so if they get into trouble at least there will be folks nearby to help. Hope I don't hear about them on the news later.

There will be a photo trip report on my blog, probably not until Thursday though.
