Someone took my spikes that I hung on a tree at the summit of Field so I did not have to carry them to Willy and back. I hope you needed them. Please email me if you have them.
I found a pole basket. Again email me |

Long tough day. Normally a hike that takes me 6.5 hours was over 9.5. River crossings needed care and on the way out wading as the level was higher. Lower trail has lost snow but above 3000 feet there is a mixture of everything. The worst sections were Avalon above the junction with AZ and Willy Range between Field and Willy. The monorail was mostly rotten and barebooters made the trail miserable. Its hard to believe how hikers wont use snoeshoes when they are so much better. And of course in these conditions just a handful of barebooters ruin the trail. North and east exposed slopes were a little better. I could have really used my spikes for the descent on the Az...... Glad to be home. |
