| Comments: |
Trail is very wet, essentially a brook with long dry stretches. As you get higher it becomes packed snow and some icy spots. The packed snow had started to give way and several times my leg sunk in. Because the upper parts of the Willey Range trail are very steep, I would bring traction (microspikes) if I did it again. However I did make it up and down all right without them and I didn't see any other hikers using traction. The conditions aren't ideal, but I was still able to beat the book time. The trail conditions aren't bad enough to not do this hike. |
