The tower on Smarts is closed. |

A fair number of blow-downs, some of which make route finding hard when coupled with snow-cover. |

| Comments: |
Snowshoes are still a must on the north side. However, it seems that the south facing trails on Smarts are doable w/o them (per other hikers and the trip report from sat). Some fairly aggravating spring snow for the last mile to the summit. |
