Comments
Comments: The beginning of the trail is dry and beautiful. Then you hit mud. About half a mile of hiking through brownie batter. Snow kicks in about two miles in. I'm not fond of snowshoes, and don't wear them unless absolutely necessary. I wore snowshoes the rest of the way in. It would have been dangerous without them. The ascent up to the peak on Garfield Ridge Trail is incredibly steep. Very slippery. Going down we slid on our butts. Our plan was to hike over to Galehead Hut. But two attempts failed. Garfield Ridge Trail disappeared and there were no markers.
