Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All of the minor streams before, during, and right after the Engine Hill Bushwhack were easy to cross - some of the snow bridges were ready to crumble. Of three major crossings we were able to skip them by bushwhacking along the right bank. The final unavoidable crossing was bridged with a big hole nearby. We crossed on our way back at 2 PM and it was stable - showing a few cracks and crevices. It did rain after we passed so not sure what impact that might have.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Nothing out of the ordinary for this time of year.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw one dog out there and she did fine.
Bugs
Bugs: Saw one bug - they are getting ready for their return.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing lost or found.

Comments
Comments: Did this one with Monica and some randomites as we got away from things and hiked to Isolation. This trip had a little of everything - warm temperatures, dry/muddy trails, spring snow, a couple of buswhacks, sun, blue skies, rain, thunder and lightening, and a rainbow.

We started earlier than the original plan because there was rain and thunderstorms in the forecast for the afternoon. We barebooted for about 30 minutes and then put on snowshoes to try to stay above the soft spring snow. It was easy to follow the Engine Hill Bushwhack - although it drops down to the trail along the river earlier than in previous years. Since it worked fine was in no mood to try and change things this late in the season. Not sure how much longer the snow bridge will be stable - it was good at 2 PM but with the warm temperatures and the afternoon rain its days are definitely numbered.

Also got to see Heather Hesse and Kali along the way.
