Baxter had fun, he loves loop hikes. He postholed when he tried to chase things off the trail but didn't have too much trouble with the trail |

Started with microspikes. Switched to snow shoes at the junction of Carter-Moriah trail. They were helpful going up to Carter Dome. There are trails all over the place just before the summit. Kept snowshoes on until going down Imp when the snow suddenly disappeared. Going down North Carter Trail was the hardest part of the day, lot of postholing with snowshoes on. Also the trail over to Carter Dome is very narrow and on the side slope so that was tricky. Only rained for the first hour or so and then sun was in and out. Great spring hike. |
