|Hiking Trail Conditions Report|
||Mt. Madison, Mt. Adams, NH|
||Valley Way, Osgood Trail, Gulfside, Lowe's Path|
|Date of Hike:
||Thursday, April 16, 2015|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Dry Trail, Snow/Ice - Monorail (Stable) |
||Light Traction |
|Water Crossing Notes:
||Some of the small crossings on Valley Way have open water but are easy to step over. A few are bridged but the bridges are beginning to look unstable. |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||Good conditions for canines - Cinnilla had a fine day and no issues. |
|Lost and Found:
||Monorail on Valley Way is very stable - starting to soften up in the early afternoon. Microspikes all the way. We carried snowshoes but no reason to use them. At higher elevation the monorail seems too narrow for snowshoes.|
Above treeline snow coverage is very intermittent - it is mostly bare rocks now. We barebooted most of it.
Spectacular day for Georg, Cinnilla and myself.
