Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All hoppable
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Several blowdowns on Fire Wardens Tr. Moved one that got me
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: 1/2 down FWT was mother grouse with family. I startled them chasing young off. Mom was naturally very protective acting in defense. Wouldn't have wanted my dogs with me at this moment(probably for their good)
Bugs
Bugs: Bad at top of Hale but deet kept them away mostly. Last stretch from 302 to Hale Brook parking was bad--just moved faster to end.

Comments
Comments: Hale Brook Tr. in great shape. Decided to take Fire Wardens Tr. because had never been on it. Definetly the highlight of the day. Nice taking a new trail that gets little use. Lots of soft steps. Surprised by how nice it was--quite dry, easy to follow, some nice views, glad it was family of birds rather than bears I startled. Wouldn't recommend 9.9 mile road walk unless that's your thing. Because of late start and heat decided against original plan of over Twins and Guyot and back off Zealand. Hopefully another day.
