Crawford Path (at the moment anyway) is a perfect frozen monorail right up to the summit of Mt. Pierce. Things get a little softer between Pierce and Eisenhower and everything will continue to soften up with the coming rain and warmer weather. Only wore hillsounds and didn't have any problems postholing until later in the afternoon when the sun softened the snow up. Today was a perfect day to be on the Southern Presidentials and spring is finally here! I'd recommend snowshoes for anyone venturing up into the mountains after today as things are starting to really soften. |
