Comments
Comments: Had a late start today and with the forecast for snow/rain I had a feeling I was not going to get many views- and I was correct. Parked at nineteen mile bk trail at 10:30 and did the quick road walk down to camp dodge. The cutoff is nicely packed although I put on snowshoes from this point onward until the jct of nineteen mile bk trail.
The trail is stable although one can see where barebooters have fallen through. I was even surpised when I was walking along the ridge and it is well-beaten. My tracks were being filled by the light snow but it is easy to follow compared to what I thought I was going to have to deal with. People before the hike were warning me about spruce traps but I didn't encounter one all day luckily. The ridge was nice and I quickly made it down the switchbacks of carter-dome trail to nineteen mile bk. Here I took my shoes off as it was a highway and plus there were a few spots of bare rock and mud. Got back to my car by 3:45, pretty fast for carrying a big pack and weighing over 200lbs.

Looking forward to bringing a few friends out 04/12 to carter dome; hoping the trails will be as nice as they were today.
