The trail is well packed down. Most people did not use snowshoes but I did. The trail is easily followed until you get close to the top where it become very hard to follow. I never saw the open ledge or the sign and ended up following snowshoe tracks to the summit of Pierce. The summit was very cold and windy but I was wearing warm down jacket so I was fine.
