Went up the slide (no longer an official trail), over the ridge, and back down Downes Brook. The slide is still in good shape - the bottom isn't all that steep but the moss is slippery (and my soles are pretty worn). The waterfalls were BEAUTIFUL. Above the waterfalls the slide trail is extremely steep and footing is so-so on the moss. Only saw people on the summits and the ridge. Everywhere else - complete isolation. Views were a little hazy. AWESOME day out there!!! |
