Comments
Comments: We started at the usual winter route. The herd path well packed out and the segment through the river crossings was also well packed out. The majority of hikers have opted to go over all 3 river crossings rather then bypass the 1st and 2nd crossing. There was only a single set of skis in the snow between Fire Warden's Tr and 2nd crossing. At the higher elevations, I would recommend snow shoes. The snow was mostly packed down but still a fluffy layer above the trail itself and my hiking buddy regretfully left some postholes in his wake, which I managed to fill about half of them back in. A couple of guys hiked up S. Twin from Galehead Hut and they said that Twinway was quite bad, but, 2 guys were able to pass through.
