Comments
Comments: Expect no trail blazes on any of the trails. The path was fully broken out and easy to follow except some false routes off the Engine Hill bushwhack. In general the selection of the snowshoe path leading to the right when there was a fork was the route that most directly lead to the Isolation Trail although sometimes it resulted in taking a short loop that rejoined the trail. The bushwhack from the Mt Isolation Trail up to the Davis Path was easy as most of the way was in the open. There was a solid base with some of the snow surface softening a bit in the afternoon.
The hike was almost aborted when I found that one of the snowshoes was in disrepair. I drove down to EMS in North Conway and they were able to fix the snowshoe.
Caught up with Bob, Geri, Jessica, and Rachel near the start of the Engine Hill bushwhack. Thanks for the conversation and tasty cookies. Great views on this cloudless day.
