Sean and I had another great hike. Wonderful conditions for a walk in the woods. 19 mile Brook Trail is hard pack all the way to Carter Hut. Put on snowshoes near Zeta Pass and needed them up to Mt High. Trail unpacked up Mt High then over Zeta Pass until it connected in again to the Carter-Moriah (AT) Trail. Snow drifts up on Carter Dome. The path is well broke in from Carter Dome back down to the hut. We slid at grease lightning speeds down the steep sections, I ran off the trail once. Great conditions. Snowshoes recommended for the higher terrains. Running shoes w/o traction sufficient to Carter Hut. |
